A maintenance log exists to answer three questions quickly: what was done, when, and what is still due. Here is what is worth writing down at every job.
What to record
- The date, and the engine hours if the equipment has an hour meter.
- What was done: oil change, part replacement, adjustment, with the references used.
- Who did it: the crew or a professional.
- The next due date, in engine hours or in calendar time.
- The proof: invoice, photo or manual page.
- Faults noticed along the way, even if nothing was repaired.
Why keep a log
A dated history helps plan the next services, find a part reference at the right moment, and hand a clear file to a mechanic, an insurer or a future buyer.
What myCloud does with it
For the Lagoon 440 myCloud, this information is gathered in a ship’s register. The digital logbook now being designed will show it on mobile, offline where possible. The boat specification sheet publishes a dated list of recent work.
